Questions people ask

The things patients ring up about most. If yours isn't here, call the office — we'd rather answer it than have you guess.

Are you taking new patients?

Yes. New patients of every age are welcome. Call 301-447-6662 or send an appointment request through this site and the office will get back to you to find a time.

What insurance do you accept?

We accept all insurance and are in network with Ameritas, MetLife, Principal, Humana, BCBS, CareFirst, FEP Blue, Guardian, United Healthcare, Aetna, DOD/Tricare, United Concordia and Cigna. If your plan isn't on that list, call the office — being out of network often costs less than people expect.

How often should I come in for a cleaning?

About every six months for most people. Regular visits keep plaque and tartar in check and let us catch small problems while they are still small and inexpensive to fix.

I'm anxious about the dentist. What can you do?

Tell us — it changes how we work. We keep the room calm, explain what is happening before it happens, and go at a pace you set. Many of our patients arrived after years of avoiding dental care.

Do you see children?

Yes. We provide pediatric dentistry, including preventive care and treatment shaped around younger patients.

Does submitting a request confirm my appointment?

No. A request is not a booked appointment. A member of our staff will contact you to confirm a date and time — your appointment is only final once they have spoken with you.

What should I do in a dental emergency?

Call the office at 301-447-6662 during business hours. If you have severe bleeding, difficulty breathing or swallowing, facial swelling that is spreading, or a serious injury, treat it as a medical emergency and call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
